Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! My mom is here with my sisters and I this weekend and we’ve had so much fun treating her to the spa, good food and all the “sister time” a mom could want.

I know everyone says this, but I really believe I have the best mom in the world. She has become my friend, confidant, advisor and support. I feel lucky to be her daughter and I just hope I make her proud of me as I am so proud of her. My sisters and I are so close and she’s got a major part in making that happen. Coming to the United States from Mexico, not knowing the language and immersing her life in a culture that is completely different from her native one is not easy and she did it with class. Over the years I’ve learned a lot from here, so here are my top things I’ve learned from my mom:
