Are you a fan of novelas? I used to watch them growing up with my mom and sisters. We would be biting our teeth with our hearts pounding to see the drama unfold every day.
“Arranque de Pasiòn, La Historia de Ela” is the newest Univision original series to hit the big screen of today: your computer. This online novela started on April 5th and releases 5 minute episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It features some of my favorite people like Kate Del Castillo, Gabriela Vergara and so sexy Carlos Ponce. The story line is about a competitive race car driver who encounters love, competition and all sorts of drama. One of the main actresses Maritė (Gabriela Vergara) has a very simple beauty look. I’m not a big fan of heavy makeup, never really knew how to apply it without looking like a hot mess. I prefer the subtle, more natural beauty that highlights your features. To me, that kind of look is strong and confident. What do you think?

The colors are just subtle enough to create that perfect understated look of strength and seduction. (and in my favorite shades of pink!)
Every face is different, and I wanted to be able to play up my favorite features. For me those are my eyes and lips. For others it could be cheekbones or brows. Here’s how you can create this look:
Use the brow pencil to lightly define brows and set the stage for the eyes. Start from the inner corner and work your way out. I hardly mess with my brows, so I lightly went through my brows just to darken them up a bit and create some definition.
Sweep the mineral cheek color with a blush brush for a soft look with a touch of shimmer. I’m loving this shade on my skin tone and adds that perfect peachy flush. I’ve been using the soft pinks and corals so much I don’t think my cheeks know anything else! p.s. isn’t this compact so pretty?
Pat the mineral eye color in copper glow across the lid and into the crease for a subtle summer shimmer color (say that three times fast!). A little goes a long way and the shade is so pretty on dark to pale skin tones. I can definitely use this shade as my everyday shade either by itself or as a base to layer.
Use the eyeliner in deep brown to define the eyes and make them look bigger. The brown shade is not as heavy as the traditional black in order to play up the eyes in a subtle way. I switch between brown and black eyeliners, but this one is great for everyday. The formula is soft as well to cover up any imperfections (who cares about a super straight line anyway?).
Curl your lashes and apply mascara to really complete the eyes. This product is serious business and it’ll get you long, thick lashes with one coat. Doesn’t smudge or melt during the day, this one has staying power.
Apply this coral-y lipstick to really bring this look together. The shade is a bit brighter so it compliments the soft eye hues. I am totally loving the corals right now and this shade in particular can be used during the day at work and can be brightened up for night!
Finish off with 2-4 sprays of this finishing spray to lock everything in place. Everyone needs a good setting spray.
The beauty of this combo is that it can really highlight any feature you want without risk of overdoing. The products have the right amount of shimmer to get that pretty, understated, confident look. What I love most about these products and using them together is that it’s the perfect everyday look for me.
