Attention Kids! Zulily has an Awesome Contest for Young Fashion Designers
Superman costume with pajama pants? Backwards dress with mismatched socks? We’ve seen the sometimes crazy fashion outfits kids put together. At the end of the day, it’s all about expressing personal style and letting these little ones get creative. So while we may think these outfit ideas are a bit nuts, fashion is the perfect space to try anything and see what works. You might even be witnessing the next future Kate Spade or Christian Siriano!
If you’ve been nodding your head reading this, listen up because I’ve got something I think you’ll love.
Zulily is holding the most awesome contest for young fashion designers. Open now through July 31, 2020 (that’s the end of this month!) parents can submit an Instagram post on behalf of their little ones ages 5-14 showcasing their unique style and fashion sense. Out of those submissions, six designers will be chosen to win a $6,000 Back-to-School prize package full of really good stuff. $5,000 of the prize money goes to their education (of course) with the remaining $1,000 given as a shopping credit to Zulily for back-to-school shopping (and we all know they have EVERYTHING).
That already sounds pretty amazing, but it gets better. Kids can also get a bonus opportunity to participate in a special design session with Zulily where they can provide creative inspiration for an exclusive capsule collection launching in 2022. This means your little designer can be a part of creating pieces ranging from swimwear to Back-to-School styles. How cool is that?!
It’s been a tough year for kids and they deserve some much-needed love for being able to transition quickly in one of the most challenging years. Going from one day playing with friends and going to school and immediately overnight switching to online school and shelter-in-place without warning has been hard for the whole family. Kids especially have shown such resilience and strength that has been truly impressive and one to take note of in years to come.
I love that such a mom-focused brand like Zulily is giving these kids such an awesome opportunity to ditch the sweatpants and showcase their creative style in such a big way. With kids going back to school in person and slowly getting back to normal, this contest couldn’t have come at a better time.
