I listen to your kid’s music
“We’re getting too old for this”, I tell my husband after attending the ACL festival a couple of years ago.
We were filthy.
Open park + rain = mud. Mud = very unhappy Sandra.
My husband and I will be at Coachella this year. For those of your who aren’t familiar with it, it’s a 3 days music festival with DJ’s and musicians including Calvin Harris, Disclosure, and Pharrell Williams (among others). We are probably going to be the oldest people there, and I don’t care.
For all you parents out there, this is the festival your kids are going to.
I listen to your kid’s music.
I’ll be the mom that can bop her head to songs her kids are jamming out to in her car. The aunt who knows who the popular DJ is. The wise woman who understands where music came from and what it is today. The curious chick who shazam’s the song in the sonos commercial and dreams that her house could fully function like that.
When I get hard to hearing or need to rest my arthritic hips, I’ll warmly say goodbye to music festivals. I’ll maybe even put on some soft jazz or classical. But until then, I’m listening to my Disclosure and Calvin Harris, just maybe turned down a bit.
