family vacation: cabo san lucas 2014
Since we were little, my sisters and I looked forward to our annual family vacation where we could chill, hang with each other and eat everything all day and all night. This year the location was set in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and it was one of the best yet. With all of us spread across the country, this year was especially important as getting together isn’t as easy as it used to be. It was also +1 as my sister’s husband joined us for the first time. Our week-long trip included naps on the beach, pool time, mescal tasting and a sailboat sunset cruise. In a word, it was…

Christmas in Mexico: what to do in Guanajuato
After Christmas (which for us it’s Christmas Eve), we went exploring in beautiful Guanajuato and San Miguel. (see part one here). Here are some pictures as well as a mini guide on what to do if you’re visiting! Guanajuato is a small city is about 30-40 minutes away from Leon. To tell you the truth, it’s my favorite. In addition to so much culture, Guanajuato feels like you’re going back in time with cobblestone streets, a spot at a cafe for that late afternoon coffee, comedians acting out shows for tips in front of an old theatre, and mariachi’s playing outside while you walk around the square at night. It has…

my trips: huatulco
Last week was our annual family vacation where we just eat, sleep and enjoy one of the beautiful beaches in Mexico (we tried Jamaica once and the experience just didn’t compare). This year our destination lead us to Huatulco for the second time and it was just heaven. The forecast called for rain and thunderstorms the entire week we were going to be there and only ended up raining once, in the evening. Take that weatherman! Aside from the beautiful beach and ocean, we stayed at the Dreams Huatulco hotel and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean was all I needed. The rooms were comfy and they even hooked us…

my trip: mexico
My trip: Mexico! If you follow me on instagram you know that I just came back from beautiful Mexico. My parents decided to do a Mexico trip and invited me along. After a week of sightseeing and visiting family in Guadalajara, Guanajuato and Leon (the leather capital), I came back relaxed, happy and full. So much good food, fresh fruit waters (watermelon, melon) and beautiful landmarks had me thinking about the next time I want to come back. Since my husband couldn’t come along, this is one trip I look forward taking with him. Have you been to Guanajuato? What did you like the best?

the S family experience
We recently came back from our family vacation in Mexico. As I’m writing this blog post, I want to be there, looking at the ocean, hearing the waves, soaking up the sun, drinking a BBC. Ever since I was little, my family has been going on a family vacation every year. We usually pick a resort, all-inclusive and usually in Mexico (we tried Jamaica once and it just didn’t par with the experience in Mexico). There is an added bonus in Mexico that we speak the language 🙂 No boyfriends or friends are allowed, just the 5 of us so we can hang together, bring us back to the significance…
